she/her
Geology PhD Student at the University of Wyoming

Paleobotanist and Paleoecologist

Research Interest

I am a paleobotanist and paleoecologist interested in how plants respond to disturbance and how that response is recorded in plants. My research lies at the intersection of past, present, and future timeline by incorporating ecology, geology, and plant physiology. By investigating modern plant response, I can establish modern trends that can be applied to the fossil record.

About

I grew up in the California Bay Area as an avid lover and collector of plants and rocks. I moved to Washington state to pursue my Bachelors in Biology and Environmental Policy & Decision Making at the University of Puget Sound where I fell in love with plant ecology. I worked in the Puget Sound Museum of Natural History as a volunteer undergraduate student docent where I was exposed to fossil plants, changing my research trajectory. After graduating, I returned to the Puget Sound Museum as the Education and Outreach Director where I combined my passion for teaching through  place-based learning and the natural history collections. I decided to return to research on fossil plants and was accepted as a PhD student with Dr. Ellen Currano at the University of Wyoming in Fall 2024.
